Success Vs Determination
This is the best time in history of human life that there is no competition to success at this point of time in any profession. You can only rarely find someone who is ready to work more than what he would demand as compensation. Majority likes to work less than what they charge. A category is there who work only minimum for what they get. A very minimum proportion is there who are willing to work more than what they get. If you put yourself in this tiny category, you would be outstanding, no competition. Finding good lawyer, accountant, plumber, .... is hard these days. Positive thinking is not guarantee for success. When Muhammad Ali Clay decided to become champion in boxing, he was never found sitting in living room watching TV. He was found practicing most of the time. Positive thinking with positive actions and efforts increases our probability of success. Mark Andrew Spitz; an American former competitive swimmer, nine-time Olympic champion, and former world record-holder in 7 events. He won seven gold medals at the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich, West Germany, an achievement surpassed only by Michael Phelps, who won eight golds at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. Spitz set new world records in all seven events in which he competed in 1972. Spitz holds more medals than any other Jewish athlete in the history of the Olympics. A journalist talked Mark Spitz; today is your lucky day. Mark told to journalist; that he practiced 10,000 hours in last four years for today (8 hours a day without break); he continued, if you sit in water for 8 hours daily for four years, your body would squeeze. Athletes practice 15 years to perform for 15 seconds. Is this luck? Why reading many books and wishing for success doesn't work? Answer is; there is difference between wish and determination. One can compromise on wish but there is no chance of compromise on firm determination. In the situation; wish turns weak but determination firms more. 15 year Akshay Patel paralyzed one full leg competing open martial arts (with normal players) represented Gujrat (India) in national championship. On asking, he told; in the start it was difficult. But once I explored that with one leg, the angle and the way I can twist my leg to slap the opposite, players with two legs cannot even imagine. He successfully turned his biggest weakness into his biggest strength. Dr Peale writer of book 'Positive Thinking' asked the audience, how many people from you have worries in life (ALL). Then he asked how many people of you want to get rid of worries in life (ALL). He told, when I was coming to this place, on the way I saw one area where people have no worries of life (not too far from here). How many people of you want to know about that area (ALL)? He told, that place is graveyard. Life and problems of life never leave alone each other. Prayers; O Creator; I'm weak but I'm ready to face all difficulties of life; You grant me patience and courage to face these difficulties. Grant me the understanding and comprehension; what is in my control and what is beyond my access. Help me to work on the things which are in my responsibility and approach to change
